Duck! Incoming Silver Bullet!

And i’m not talking about a can of Coors Light. At our weekly team meeting our manager talked about what he learned at the big blue product seminar he attended. He was very excited about all of the new features of the updates to products we use for software development. As you may have surmised from the title, it will solve our many problems. It will turn us all into ‘service builders’. It is full of AJAX stuff and SOA. I just get faint being around all of this enterprisey goodness. He concluded his overview with the statement, “We’ve got to get to this version as soon as possible.”

This will be fun.

Maximizing Productivity

Today has not started well. My productivity has been thwarted by the very instrument of my productivity, my laptop. I was greeted by the politely ominous message, “We apologize for the inconvenience, your computer was unable to start normally…”. Since receiving this my laptop has disappeared into the bowels of our support center for resurrection.

I am left at my desk posting blog entries via my Palm handheld, wondering when I will see my laptop again. If it’s still dead by lunch, I think I will go flying.
